19 Jan 3 Indicators That You May Need Vacuum Repair
When the weekend rolls around it means it’s time to finally clean your home of the messes you’ve created all week. Odds are vacuuming will be on your list. Some people don’t realize how important this is due to the health risks it can pose to those in close proximity.
The dust present in the air is capable of triggering respiratory issues, particularly asthma. This disease affects an estimated 300 million people across the globe, and is responsible for as many as 250,000 deaths every year. By the year 2025, it’s estimated that the number of those with Asthma will increase by more than 100 million.
Because of these dangers, it’s vitally important to ensure that your vacuum cleaner is operating efficiently. If not, it may be time for some vacuum repairs. But how can you tell if they are necessary?:
- Coughing or wheezing: If you or someone you know with Asthma appears to be sneezing or coughing more than they usually would even after vacuuming, there’s a good chance something is wrong with your vacuum system. Checking some of the parts individually can be a good indicator of any existing issues, which brings us to the next point.
- Perform an inspection: If you find you’re having issues, you may be lucky enough to avoid vacuum repairs by checking for easy fixes. A vacuum filter can become packed with lint and dust overtime and can prevent air flow as well as more particulates entering the dust collector. It’s advised that filters should be regularly cleaned after every three to four uses.
Blockages can also occur within the nozzle, the hose, and the entry bay that can constrict air flow. This basic troubleshooting could save you a lot of time and effort. - Keep track of age: If you begin to notice your vacuum has less power than it used to, depending on the age it might be time for a replacement. The life span of a vacuum usually averages somewhere between five to seven years. Even if you’ve yet to notice any serious problems, at that age, it may be worth looking into a replacement anyway.
- Once you’ve gone without a vacuum for a bit, you will come to realize how important they are to clean living. Whether you need vacuum repairs or an all out replacement, you will be happier breathing easy.
